Discover the atmosphere of Miskolc on a special experience walk, or cellar tour, along the historic Avas Wine Cellar Row, complete with wine tasting!

11 July 2026, Saturday, 2:00 p.m.

There is a place in Miskolc where cobbled streets lead to centuries-old wine cellars, and where every sip of wine carries a piece of the past. This place is Avas, and you can discover it yourself on our special experience tour.

The sightseeing walk starts from the Tourinform office, then continues through the city centre, passing the lively Szinva Terrace area and the building of the Miskolc National Theatre, where a special love story will also come to life. After a short walk, we leave the busy city behind and arrive in nature, among the atmospheric cellars of Avas, where visitors can experience a completely different side of Miskolc.

Narrow streets, old press houses and a truly unique setting await you on the Avas Wine Cellar Row, where nearly 800 cellars tell the story of Miskolc’s former wine trade and winemaking traditions. In the former entertainment district, we can follow in the footsteps of writers associated with the Nyugat literary journal, such as Zsigmond Móricz and Ferenc Móra, and discover what secret rendezvous the cellar row walls may have witnessed.
